Sweet Melissa Sundays – Lemon Walnut Sour Cream Pound Cake

It’s that time of the week again! This week’s Sweet Melissa Sundays pick was selected by Raeann of Basically, Baby Boots. Citrus flavors are my favorite so you can imagine how excited I was about making this cake.
The ingredients are are simple and the preparation is super easy. However – note to self and all others – try not to talk on the phone while you’re baking. Because no matter how easy, you’re bound to mess something up. In this case, I forgot to grease my pan before pouring the cake batter. By some miracle of God, I was able to unmold it with minimal losses. But lesson learned.
Thank goodness I didn’t mess up the cake because I would have missed out on an amazingly moist cake with a tight, tender crumb. The lemon flavor was on point – sweet and tangy. (It’s amazing how much flavor comes out of citrus zest.) And the walnuts added great texture.
Another winner from the Sweet Melissa Baking Book. For the recipe, visit Raeann’s blog or buy the book.
P.S. – Make sure to leave comments, as I will be donating $1 for every comment left on A Chica Bakes through Monday to Haitian relief efforts.

I know just what you mean – although I can multi-task with the best of them, I simply cannot talk and bake at the same time. I'm surprised I haven't baked the phone yet!
