Nutella Fudge Brownies & Desserts 4 Today Cookbook Review

Over the last few years I have been very resistant to social media, which makes my husband (who I have dubbed the King of social media) cringe.  Although I am the only person I know who does not have a Facebook page, I have taken a liking to Twitter.   What I like about Twitter is that it enables you to connect with people you wouldn’t otherwise know that share your same interests.

A few weeks ago I came across a video trailer for a new cookbook by Abigail Dodge called Desserts 4 Today.  The book offered a great concept – dessert recipes with only four ingredients.  I re-tweeted it and low and behold a few minutes later Abigail Dodge herself reached out and asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the book on my blog.

Upon receiving the book, I flipped through it cover to cover and was so intrigued about all of the wonderful looking four ingredient desserts that I could not wait to go home and give some of them a try.

Desserts 4 Today offers sophisticated desserts that could not be easier to make with no complex techniques to master or hours of prep to put in.  So for those of you who still think you can’t bake, look for further than the recipes in this book.  And for you regular bakers, if you’re anything like me, while making pie dough from scratch is incredibly satisfying, an easy peasy dessert is always welcome.

The recipes in this book use simple pantry ingredients and most are ready from start to finish in about 30 minutes, as was the case with these Nutella Fudge Brownies I bring to you all today.

Simply gather up the egg, Nutella, flour and hazelnuts, mix the egg and Nutella, add the flour and I added some of the nuts to the batter because I like my brownies extra nutty.  Spoon the batter into a mini cupcake pan, sprinkle remaining nuts on top, bake for 10-12 minutes and voila – you’re done.

And not only were these brownies a cinch to make but the taste was spot on.  I mean what’s not to love about Nutella.  Add some chopped hazelnuts to the mix and forget about it.  They provided just the right mixture of fudginess and nuttiness that I love.  There’s a whole lot of deliciousness in these lil beauties. Make ‘em to see for yourself.

I look forward to making more recipes from this book.  Pick it up and see them all for yourself.

I just heard Abigail on the radio last week talking about the book. I’ve heard her before and like her recipes and style! Trying to decide whether or not to buy the book. Seriously, I don’t need another cookbook. Now you tempt me with this amazing nutella recipe. Maybe I can have it shipped to work so my husband won’t notice I’ve bought another cookbook. :)

I have a feeling, as I mentioned to someone else earlier, that Abigail’s book is going to be one of the hottest Christmas gifts this year. Your version the brownies looks amazing.

I have a cookbook for 5 ingredient meals and I love it. I have found myself pleasantly surprised, and anything that needs just a little added something becomes a 6 ingredient meal. Big deal. I bake all the time and love recipes that don’t call for a million mixing bowls to get the job done. I will totally buy this! Thanks for the heads-up.

Wait. JUST nutella, egg, flour and nuts? Goodness that sounds divine! And I pretty much started drooling as soon as I laid eyes on that pic of yours.

Hmm… I’ve got a jar of nutella in the cupboard, what to do, what to do…

I should start tweeting random things that I want in the hopes that companies will see it and send me things. I wonder what would happen if I wrote about how I was pining for ghirardelli white chocolate every day. Do you think they’d send me some?

This cookbook sounds awesome. I hate finding baked goods recipes where there are five thousand ingredients, none of which you actually really have. And nutella. I mean, come on. Does life get any better?

So cute! I love these and have tons of Nutella to still use. I just finished baking Chewy Nutella Crinkle cookies because a LARGE container of Nutella dropped and the lid shattered. Ugh!

So cool the author asked you to do a review on your blog! LOVE IT!

That’s cool that you had an opportunity to review the book. I’ll be on the look out for more recipes from it. I’m diggin’ the concept of it.

Anyway, my daughter loves all things nutella – I will definitely have to show her this!!
